Taping
What
We Offer
K tape is a sturdy stretchy tape used for injury prevention and rehabilitation. It helps to stabilise joints, reduce tension, decrease pain, reduce scar tissue and swelling. It can be used to help athletic performance, by improving muscle firing and contraction. It can help with particular conditions that need a joint held in place, such as patellar pain syndrome, runners knee and shoulder instability. It can help reduce post operative swelling and excess swelling post injury.
Our Taping Treatment Session
Ktaping can be part of a treatment or a stand-alone session.
The therapist will initially assess your injury or complaint and decide on the best use for taping.
The area is initially cleaned and the tape is cut and applied directly to the skin. The therapists may ask you to move in a certain way when applying the tape to get the best results. The tape can be left on up to 4 days, but the therapist will advise depending on your injury. It is waterproof so can be kept on in the shower or bath and used when swimming. On rare occasions some people do get a reaction to the tape, sometimes a couple of days after application the therapist will advise to remove it.
