Shoulder stiffness is a common complaint and one that we treat frequently at Elite Therapy. Even mild shoulder stiffness can impact on our daily lives as well as cause pain. If severe, it can affect people’s work, hobbies and ability to sleep.
Stiffness in the front of the shoulder and upper chest is frequently caused by poor posture. Such posture is often due to spending hours sat at a desk or driving long distances. In both cases poor ergonomic design may mean that the shoulders have to be raised to reach the keyboard or steering wheel, which leads to stress on the joints and muscles and resulting stiffness.
In this video, Joel explains and demonstrates four stretches that can be done at home which will decrease stiffness and pain and increase the mobility of these vital joints.
