Lesley Powell, who takes yoga classes here at Elite Therapy, on Saturday and Tuesday mornings is an incredibly knowledgeable and versatile yoga instructor. As well as her popular yoga classes,we have started to introduce ‘Chair Yoga’ classes which are ideal for anyone who might be less mobile or have issues where floor based exercises are difficult and even painful.
Classes are usually Tuesdays at 12.05pm but please drop us a line to check dates as more classes are being added.
What is ‘Chair Yoga’?
Quite simply, the chair replaces the mat! The chair becomes an extension of the body, allowing the person to experience the many benefits of yoga.
Who is it Suitable For?
Chair yoga is ideal for total beginners who might feel that they are not yet flexible enough and want to improve their suppleness and movement.
Anyone with a health condition that limits their mobility and even anyone with a desk job or driving job where they may be sat in one position for a long period and seniors can all benefit from chair yoga! However, its worth noting that anyone can take part, even those with yoga experience, plus it’s fun to do too.
What are the Benefits of Chair Yoga?
Much the same as yoga itself, there is so much to gain! Here’s a few benefits for you:
