Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy Coventry

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that focuses on restoring and maintaining movement and function in individuals who have been affected by injury, illness, or disability. It takes a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, considering the overall lifestyle of the person. Physiotherapists aim to enable their patients in their recovery by involving them in their own care through education, awareness and active participation in treatment.

Physiotherapy can be beneficial at any stage of life. Whether you are experiencing back pain, recovering from a sudden injury, managing a chronic medical condition, or preparing and recovering from surgery, physiotherapy can help. The goal is to improve your quality of life by addressing movement problems that may contribute to pain, stiffness, and weakness.

The physiotherapist will assess your condition, perform a thorough evaluation, and develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. Treatment may involve various techniques such as manual therapy, stretching, strengthening exercises,  electrical modalities (e.g., tens, laser), and other specialized interventions.

Our physiotherapists aim to enhance your ability to engage in daily activities, improve your physical performance, and enhance your overall quality of life

All our physiotherapists are HCPC registered.

Process of
Therapy

Assessment
The patient's medical history, habits that may affect their health and recovery, and physical state are carefully evaluated by the physiotherapist. To obtain an in-depth awareness of the patient's current condition and demands, this may involve doing range-of-motion tests, strength assessments, and other diagnostic procedures.
1
Diagnosis
Using their expertise, the physiotherapist analyses the results and diagnoses the specific issue that is causing discomfort for the patient. This diagnosis guides the creation of an efficient treatment plan by taking into account both the symptoms that are present and the underlying causes.
2
Treatment Plan
Once an accurate diagnosis has been made, the physiotherapist creates a customised treatment plan based on the specific needs of the patient. The treatment objectives, the procedures to be followed (such as targeted exercises, manual therapy approaches, and treatments like heat or cold therapy), and the planned timetable for achieving these objectives are all described in this plan.
3
Physiotherapy
Methods including manual treatment, exercise therapy to increase strength, flexibility, and endurance, and the use of therapeutic devices to promote tissue repair, may be used in these sessions. In order to guarantee the best possible healing and function restoration, the physiotherapist regularly assesses the patient's progress during this phase and modifies the treatment plan as needed.
