Medical Acupuncture

What
We Offer

Medical Acupuncture involves the insertion of thin needles into specific trigger points on the body. It is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that has been used for thousands of years and can help treat a variety of symptoms including pain, inflammation and tension.

The theory behind acupuncture is that by stimulating specific acupoints, the body’s natural healing processes are activated, and the flow of energy is restored. Acupuncture is believed to help reduce pain and reduce inflammation by releasing endorphins and improving circulation in the affected area.

It has been shown to be an effective treatment for certain conditions, such as chronic pain, migraines, and osteoarthritis.

Our Medical Acupuncture Session

Your therapist will assess firstly if you are suitable for this particular treatment as certain conditions are a contraindication. If suitable and you are happy to have the treatment, the therapist will insert fine needles into trigger points around the body, depending on your injury or complaint. You may feel a slight pinch as it goes in, but most people feel no discomfort at all. The therapist will talk through what steps to take after you have had the treatment to reduce any post treatment soreness. Medical Acupuncture can be a stand alone treatment or as part of a treatment session.
